Our Story
While some aspects of Rosie’s have changed over the years as the restaurant has grown and evolved, much of its beloved menu, charming décor, and even the familiar faces of its staff remain delightfully unchanged. General Manager Ron Sunderland has been diligently working hard at Rosie’s since 1971, bringing his experience and knowledge to the establishment. Similarly, Dining Room Manager June Denis began her journey at Rosie’s when she was just nineteen years old, and you will still find her warm and welcoming smile greeting customers when you come through the doors all these years later. In fact, you’ll discover that many other staff members have shown unwavering commitment to Rosie’s and its loyal customers for decades. It is this remarkable level of loyalty and dedication that contributes to making Rosie’s the comfortably familiar dining experience it is cherished for today.
Rosie’s has been serving up home style meals to the Middlebury community for over forty years and its site has been creating memories for many years before that. Rosie’s location on Rt. 7 south was home to Palmer’s Dairy Bar before it became Rosie’s Restaurant in 1978. .
Rosie’s Restaurant is proud to carry on a tradition of serving quality food, at a competitive price, and we work hard to maintain our local Vermont charm in an increasingly competitive economy.
Some may still remember the original slogan that hung from its sign,
“Good Food, Plenty of it, and it don’t take all day to get it.”
